Dziś relacja z ostatnich dni naszej podróży. Z niezapomnianego tygodnia spędzonego w wiosce Karen w Tajlandii, dokąd dotarliśmy tymże „cudem” (zdjęcie po lewo) zwanym „songthaew”.
Today we present our report from last days of our trip. It was an unforgettable week we spent in the village of Karen in Thailand, where we got by this vehicle (picture on the left) called songthaew. English text below pictures.

Szybki przesiadko-nocleg w Chiang Mai i udajemy się do zachwalanego przez wszystkich Pai. Pai to mała urokliwa wioska, pięknie usytuowana w dolinie rzeki o tej samej nazwie. Wioska ta gości głównie backpackersów i zmęczonych miastem turystów chcących odpocząć na łonie natury.
Quick change bus/stay overnight in Chiang Mai and we go to Pai praised by everyone. Pai is a small charming village beautifully situated in the valley of the Pai river, which host mainly backpackers and tourists tired of the city who want to relax a little bit in the nature.
Wiolu i Tomku, to była pamiętna data, dokładnie dziś mija równo 5 miesięcy od Waszego ślubu! A według kalendarza buddyjskiego to…. też 5 miesięcy tylko rok inny 🙂
Wiola and Tomek, that was a memorable day, today is exactly 5 months since we’ve celebrated your wedding! And according to the Buddhist calendar it’s ….. also 5 months just another year 🙂
Luang Prabang – miejsce, którego nikomu kto był w Laosie przedstawiać nie trzeba. Dawna stolica państwa jest obowiązkowym punktem każdej wycieczki. Można więc tu spotkać ludzi wszelakiej narodowości, w drodze z/do Tajlandii, Kambodży, Wietnamu. Mieszają się kraje, języki, historie z podroży…
Luang Prabang – a place where anyone who was in Laos needs no introduction. The former capital of the state is a must-visit. So here you can meet people of all nationalities, on the way to/from Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Mingle of countries, languages, histories of journey …

Mówi się że Laos jest jeszcze mało turystyczny. Mnie jednak nieodłącznie towarzyszy poczucie, ze tu już nauczyli się, że na turystach można zarobić dużo i korzystają z tego bez skrępowania. Czego jednak się jeszcze nie nauczono – to fakt, iż o turystów trzeba też dbać;)
It is said that Laos is still little touristic country. However, I have a feeling that people here have already learned that you can earn a lot of money because of tourists and they enjoy this without embarrassment. What, however, they have not yet been taught – is the fact tourists must have been taken care of:)
Kambodża żegna nas nieprzyjemnie, koniecznością przekupienia urzednika, aby ten wbił nam stempel wyjazdowy. Bez dodatkowych dolarów nagle Panowie na granicy nie znają angielskiego, nie zwracają na nas uwagi, nic nie robią, a czekając na łapówkę popijają ostentacyjnie coca colę. Po stronie laotańskiej jest podobnie – płacimy za wizę i dodatkowo łapówka. Brak zasad i respektowania prawa, a może jego brak ma też złe strony. W zamian za to kilka godzin jazdy busem i wspólne przekraczanie granicy daje możliwość lepszego poznania licznych towarzyszy niedoli, z którymi trzymamy się następne dni i zwiedzamy Laos 🙂
Cambodia says goodbye to us in really not nice way, we had to bribe the officer on the border to get exit stamp in passports. Without the extra dollars gentlemen on the border suddenly don’t know English anymore, do not pay attention to us and they do nothing. While waiting for a bribe they ostentatiously sipping coca cola. Lao side is similar we are paying for a visa and an additional bribe. There are no rules and respect for the law or perhaps there is no law at all in this case. But few hours spent in bus and common border crossing gives us a chance to meet many other people going trough the same „process”, with those friends we hang out next days and we sightseeing Laos 🙂
Dzięki temu, iż widzieliśmy już sławny Ankor Wat – mogliśmy tym razem go pominąć i ruszyć do granicy z Laosem, na północ Kambodży wschodnią, mniej uczęszczaną częścią kraju. Na szczęście też nie spieszyło nam się więc można było pozwolić sobie na ciekawe przystanki.
Due to the fact that we have already seen the famous Ankor Wat – we could skip it and move to the border with Laos, nort of Cambodia, via less frequented parts of the country. Fortunately we are also not in hurry so we could afford to some interesting stops.
Z rajskiej wyspy wracamy na ląd by odwiedzić 3 miejsca leżące na południowo zachodnim wybrzeżu Kambodży. Pierwszym na tej liście jest Sihanoukville (nazwa może kojarzyć się z Nashville, ale miasteczko raczej go nie przypomina). Mieliśmy spore oczekiwania w stosunku do tego miejsca. Miała być dżungla, park norodowy, tradycyjne wioski rybackie i przepiękne plaże. Wszystko to i owszem znajduje się w okolicach Sihanoukville, ale jakoś bardzo nie urzeka – no może morze i plaże 🙂
From the paradise island we going back to the mainland to visit 3 places located on the south west coast of Cambodia. First on the list is Sihanoukville (the name may be associated with Nashville, but this town rather doesn’t look like that). We had a lot of expectations for this place. There suppouse to be a jungle, National Park, traditional fishing villages and beaches. All that really is located around Sihanoukville, but not enchants – actually maybe beaches do 🙂
